Hey Mike — You bring up some interesting thoughts, and thanks for reading the article. I disagree that we can grow our way out of the problem. A common argument for lowering taxes is that it results in increased activity offsetting the revenue decline, but it’s rarely the case that we’re left in a better place. Even with the argument that the money coming in will be pumped into the economy, less money coming in will be a net negative relative to if that money was invested in other programs.

I do agree that there should be reform around bankruptcy discharge on student loans.
